Back to Life
Holy crap! It’s my first blog! I’m so happy to be a part of cyberspace, especially now that I have a new jaw that can transmit its own frequency into the computer. In fact, I am not even really typing this, it’s the new jaw juice. So, you’re probably wondering how I’m doing. The truth is I’m doing pretty well. I started back to work about a month ago, and my first show back was heartbreakingly wonderful. It was a perfect night at Jardine’s Jazz Club. I was with Paul Smith (piano), Bob Bowman (bass), and Tim Cambron (drums), who will now and forever in these blogs be known as PBT (after their trio) as well as Danny Embry (guitar). The evening was full of great Jazz moments, tears from me and lots of other people, and I felt really blessed.
After that however, I proceeded to do what I always do which is to over do it. You see, approaching starting back to work, apart from being really nervous (the new jaw and everything) I began to over extend myself by booking 13 gigs in May, which is not necessarily what I was cleared to do. But I did it, and I made it, and I am not going to continue over doing it, and I leave for a doctor’s appointment in Dallas tomorrow. I really hope I don’t get in trouble. But I love jazz, and I love Kansas City Music. I just can’t stay away.
Thanks for reading, thanks for listening, thanks for everything,
Megan
